ASSESS THE PROBLEMS - PLAN THE SOLUTIONS
When it comes to ventilation system hygiene, the biggest
problem many Building Managers face is the lack of knowledge of the
conditions within their systems.![]()
Armed with this information, a programme of preventative measures and
remedial works can be put into place. This both complies with the current
legislation and contributes to the general welfare and comfort of the
building occupants.
H.M.L. carry out various depths of Risk Assessments, ranging from purely
internal inspection with photographic evidence, to full microbiological
counting and testing for harmful gasses. A report is always produced
detailing findings and recommendations.
A standard Risk Assessment would be undertaken generally out of normal
working hours to minimise disruption. The selected systems would be
inspected from air inlet through the filtration, coils, supply fan and
ductwork to the terminal devices.
The report produced would give a summary of findings, a description of
the system, a detailed account of the current hygiene conditions as found,
photographic and microbiological evidence plus practical recommendations.
